Community Acupuncture

Acupuncture, a cornerstone of traditional Chinese medicine, offers a holistic approach to fortifying immunity against colds and flu. By stimulating specific points along the body's meridian pathways, acupuncture is believed to regulate the immune system, promoting balance and bolstering its defense mechanisms. This therapy aims to enhance the body's ability to fight off pathogens by reducing inflammation, increasing the production of immune cells, and restoring the body's natural flow of energy, known as Qi. Studies suggest that acupuncture can potentially alleviate symptoms, shorten the duration of colds and flu, and even prevent their occurrence by enhancing overall immune function, making it a compelling adjunct to conventional treatments for bolstering immunity.

Qigong (pronounced chee-goong) is a method of managing health that has been practiced since ancient times in China. On any morning in the parks throughout China, you will find thousands of people doing Qigong practices.
Qigong consists of a variety of techniques, some employing the breath, some acting on the outer muscles of the body and others improving the operation of the various bodily systems. It is instrumental in the prevention and treatment of dis-ease, the maintenance and improvement of health, and in holding back the process of aging and extending life.
Diedre tailors each class to the needs of the participants. She will guide students through Qigong forms to target areas of pain and stiffness, balance, posture, muscles, and tension relief, and how to walk and move more efficiently.
This class series will be held on the following dates:
